Ledge Fever Sportfishing will be running a very limited number of exclusive private charters. Our Striped Bass trips begins as early as Mid-April and runs as late as December and our Offshore trips run from June through December.
Striped Bass Fishing in the Raritan Bay and the waters has spoiled us. The ability to start so early in the season futher up the rivers then follow the fish out to the ocean is a huge advantage over other NJ waters. We generally troll, chunk, or fish with live bunker when possible. Striped Bass Ocean trips are generally 6-8 hours either early mornings or evenings in the spring and fall. Trips may be longer if we are running north to the bay early in the season.

We prefer to run overnight canyon trips when the weather allows. This provides us more time on the water and maximizes our opportunity to have lines in when the fish come up to feed. Spending the night also allows us the time to use multiple methods to raise fish such as trolling, jigging, and chunking. Along with Tuna, we will typically target Swordfish with deeper baits. It is also very common to see the underwater lights and chunk baits attracting a number of Mahi and various shark species at night. When time and conditions allow, we will also deep-drop for Tilefish and use lighter spinning tackle for Mahi during the daylight hours.
Because we are not on the clock with another charter waiting for our return, we will fish as long as we can. Our anglers, our fuel and weather conditions will determine our time on the water. We typically have an 80-100 nautical mile run each way so we want you to get the most you can out of the trip. Our location and range allows us to fish from the Hudson Canyon all the way down to the Wilmington Canyon giving us a pretty opportunity set when the right water rolls in. We expect most overnight trips will depart by 10am and return by 4pm the following day.
Day Trips and Midshore Trips will be considered if weather limits our option to overnight or if we have a confirmed bite inshore of the 100 Fathom Line. We have spared no expense building a solid network of partner boats, weather and water reporting, and fishing report services to maximize our opportunies before ever leaving the dock.
